Please allow 2 business days for your permit to be processed.

Once processed, it it your responsibility to ADD the course.

Credit By Examination

Previously the blue form.

To be completed at the time of the examination.

CBE Form

Placement/Challenge Exam Information - includes information about the examinations available, as well as dates and times.

If you pass and are eligible, your credit will be processed at the next Census date and will be reflected in your PAWS Report.

CBE Restrictions

1. Open University students are NOT eligible to take Credit by Examinations.
2. They may be taken only by students currently enrolled at the University in courses other than the one(s) to be challenged.
3. They may not be take by students who have received credit for work in the subject in advance of the course in which the examination is required, except where permission is granted by the department concerned.
4. They may not be taken to raise grades or remove failures in courses.
5. Once a student has successfully challenged a course, a student may not subsequently enroll in the course for credit. Units attempted, units earned, and grade points for such an enrollment will be disallowed.
6. No more than 12 units of credit by examination through the Department of World Languages and Literatures may be received; a maximum of 40 units of credit by exam total at CSUSB.
7. A student may repeat an examination for credit only upon approval of the associate provost for academic programs.
8. Credit by examination may not be used to fulfill the minimum residence requirements.

Spanish 295 Permit

One requirement to enroll in SPAN 295 is that you are either now taking or have taken Spanish 203. You must have this requirement or have special approval in order to be permitted to take the exam. The Spanish 295 Student Permit Request must be completed in order to receive permission to enroll.

Once processed, it it your responsibility to REGISTER for Spanish 295 through MyCoyote before the CENSUS date. You WILL NOT be allowed to register for Spanish 295 AFTER CENSUS.

EXAM DATES

The Spanish 295 Junior Skills Assessment Exam is given during the 7th week of the quarter. It is a two-day exam with 2 hours each day. You will be given your assigned days and times once registration is completed.

It is your responsibility to make proper arrangements with employers and/or other professors; so that you may attend the assigned exam dates.

Spanish 496 Permit

The Spanish 496 Student Permit Request must be completed in order to receive permission to enroll.

Once processed, it it your responsibility to REGISTER for Spanish 496 through MyCoyote before the CENSUS date. You WILL NOT be allowed to register for Spanish 496 AFTER CENSUS.

Complete the Course Substitution/Waiver Form to send a request to the Department Chair for approval.

Funds Awarded

Funds Awarded Form (Cannot be accessed by students.)

Report any Funds received of which Jennifer should be aware.  This can include items to be used as course releases, stipends, etc.  Such funds may come from grants, Q2S, etc.

To request an item (Film, software, iPad app, game, etc.) for the MMLC, as well as software for your office or professional use.
